FIRE-RESILIENCE = LAND BACK 

To be resilient means to go back to the land's indigenous roots. In order to reside within ecologies that are dominated by an element we must first ask ourselves if we are the best keepers of knowledge in order to caretake and inhabit the land. Resiliency within a fire ecology cannot be attained unless the land is given back to whom it was stolen from, the fire ecology of Malibu should be given back to the Chumash Tribe. This project proposes architecture as a medium towards colonial reparations in the form of land back. 

QSI (sol/sun)  is an architectural presentation of the sun, the earth, and the Chumash people. 
It does so by embodying housing, people, knowledge, rituals, and art. This self-sufficient creative co-dwelling and art space is built with local, fire resilient materials, that come from our mother earth (rammed earth, brick, stone, etc).
